It was not allowed before the Fair Play Policy. the mod that shows on minimap every aiming direction from enemies. Aslains WoWs ModPack is a mod for World of Warships, created by Aslain. Some they'll allow, others they'll forbid. It does give an advantage, but as with everything WG related, they're really weird when it comes to that. I'll donate this weekend to make up for it.) (Sorry if this seems argumentative, or like I'm ungrateful. I guess my question is if anyone else thinks there's a difference between changing icons and these navigation indicators, because it seems to me there is. Was there ever any debate about these certain mods? I'm glad they're there, they seem to be teaching me what the ships look like at certain angles and directions, anyone who plays knows how to turn them on, and I know that a more experienced player playing without them can still tear me up, but they do bring otherwise hard-to-tell maneuvers into sharp focus for me and change my gameplay. Maybe that's due to my inexperience, but they do increase my performance, whereas changing up icons doesn't. But I find running without them makes it harder for me to get solid hits sometimes, and they help me aim better. If malware ever was discovered in the modpack, you can bet it would be trumpeted throughout the heavens. And they bind you in the same way as they bind us. So any user which bona fide uses approved mod, cannot be banned as there is no legal basis for such a ban. All I can say is that it was never caused me a problem (other than the occasionally broken mod or the bogus warning). The burden of checking if a modpack approved on the forums doesnt contain illegal modifications is on WG, definitely on the user. Now, I have my own opinion about why Avast suddenly found it expedient to fail something it's been looking at for, literally, years. A couple of hours later the lab came back saying, "yes, it's safe". This last time, Avast went bonkers, quarantining it and "sending it to the lab to analyze".
ASLAIN himself claimed on his website to have a solution but that didn't work, he also claimed that windows defender is bugged and is just getting a false positive, yet Chrome has also gave me a warning after it was downloaded. Im getting a warning from windows defender, and i looked up online what people were saying, and it seems that there's no credibible confirmation that his modpack is safe.
